Corsham Walking Festival 2017

Corsham Walking Festival 2017 9th - 11th June

Corsham Walking Festival returns for its fourth year, already a firm fixture for all who love the great outdoors and enjoy Walking Festivals. Corsham is a medieval market town that sits on the fringe of the Cotswolds and at the heart of the beautiful rolling North Wiltshire countryside on paths dating back to Roman times.

Whatever your walking ability or interest, this event offers walks that will tempt you. There are 18 walks planned over the three days of the Festival, many of them themed and with talks given by experts.

We have several new walks; some favourites are back by popular demand, so there is something there for everyone. Walks will include: Historic Corsham, Hidden Quarrying, Railways and Tramways, Wildflowers, Explorer and Medieval Pilgrims, by kind permission of Hartham Park, a unique opportunity to visit Hartham Park and the estate, not to mention countless hidden valleys, woods and panoramas.

By popular demand we have included several longer distance walks. The Canals, Lacock and the Ladbrook Walk that goes from Chippenham to Lacock via the Wilts and Berks Canal footpath and then on to Corsham following the Ladbrook is but one of these longer distance walks.

Bring your family and friends and join either the Children’s Treasure Hunt or Corsham Quest testing you knowledge and observation skills.

All the walk descriptions covering distance, grading’s, start times, costs and booking arrangements will be explained in detail in our Festival brochure and on the Festival website at www.corshamwalkingfestival.org.uk.

Why not visit our Corsham Walking Festival Facebook page to find more information and links to associated articles and items.

The optional Saturday evening entertainment is looking to be another winner this year with music provided by Akrat, a four piece jazz band from the Corsham School, a quiz to tease the mind and to compete for The Golden Boots and many other great prizes donated by local businesses. There will be a paying bar and a buffet by the award winner caters Elior Catering.

There will be free parking at the Springfield Community Campus throughout the festival.

Places are limited and many walks fill quickly so advanced booking is strongly advised. Booking opens on the 3 April, so please visit our website and book early to avoid disappointment
